Dad's 70th Surprise Birthday Party!

My dad's 70th party was so fantastic. We wanted to do something really special because our dad is the most amazing man we know. We emailed, mailed, and called as many old friends and family as we could and asked them to send us memories written down on paper for my dad. It was so fun going through them all. Some stories we had heard before and some were new and really made my dad blush. We put all of the memories in a book for my dad and then all of my siblings, their spouses and my mom surprised him. We had pizza, cake (Cherisse made it), 50's music, and karaoke. It was the funnest night. My dad was so surprised and was even more surprised when we read all of the things that people had to say about him. He really has been such and amazing person his whole life. Everyone that he knows holds him near and dear to their hearts. He is so great in so many ways. He is such a calm, non judgemental listener. He is so intelligent and seems to know just about everything. If he doesn't know the answer to something, he has a book that does have the answer. He is so humble and would never make anyone feel small or insignificant. He says yes with a smile and never complains. I have never known a more giving person of their time and talents. He keeps a few spare keys to every ones car in the family even after we are married just in case of an emergency. And yes, we have all had to use them. His greatest joy is watching his family grow, learn, and live life to the fullest. He loves to laugh and has the greatest smile. He is calm and not quick to react in a bad situation. Always giving others the benefit of the doubt. He can be a bit mischievous. The best baby sitter that my kids have ever had. Can fix anything. Love you dad!

They are the cutest! That was a very nice post, and that party was super fun! I was actually pregnant at that party without knowing it.
